Egypt is located in North Africa between the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Cairo encompasses a blend of both cultures, with a population of over 20.5 million it is considered to be the largest city in the Arab world.  The city was founded in 969 AD by the Fatimid dynasty.  Cairo is set on the banks of the Nile River with the famous Tahrir Square in its city center. The city is mostly known for its ancient history including the Giza pyramid complex and the ancient city of Memphis.
